TURNkey IT is a company focused on its customers needs.  Although we often provide our clients with the hardware and software necessary to get the job done, TURNkey is a service company.  In short, TURNkey IT is the helpdesk of your organization.  We are a team of highly skilled professionals with various backgrounds in Information Technologies. 

Our typical employee is one that has a passion for knowledge and a wide array of work and life  experiences.  Our staff of highly trained professionals don't hesitate to learn from each other.  The culture that exists at our offices is highly collaborative and interactive.

History
TURNkey IT began in 1996 as TURNkey Network Systems, Inc. strictly as a computer networking company working with modems and routers.  In the beginning, TURNkey worked with fortune 100 telco infrastructure providers to combine disparate technologies to create new applications for cellular phones.  TURNkey had a role in the early days of transmitting data over code divisional multiple access cellular networks (CDMA).  In fact, we were some of the first people to demonstrate the transmission of data and fax through a CDMA handset in mid 1996.  Although the market for these slower data rates did not readily emerge (and make us all wealthy), it laid the foundation for the highly viable 3G networks we are seeing today. 

 This experience taught the company founders how to deal with multiple systems and technologies, how to troubleshoot complex systems, and how to manage high pressure situations. 

As the years have gone by, TURNkey has evolved into a company where small and medium sized business are our primary focus.  TURNkey has recognized the value these types of businesses have for their customers and the economy in general.  Moreover, these smaller types of businesses have a real need for technology and people to make the technology work for them.


Founders
David M. Kolssak
David Kolssak was born in 1969 and graduated from the Krannert School of Management at Purdue University in 1991 with a B.S. in Management.  Since then he has built his creative, management and technical skills while managing his family's business and working as a musician (also as a waiter) in Los Angeles, CA in the operation of his own recording studio. 

David is a person who truly enjoys engaging people.  From a young age, he has been entrepreneurial in all of his endeavors. In 1996 he started TURNkey Network Systems, Inc. with his partner David Lecinski in Wheeling, IL.  Since the inception of TURNkey, David has managed the general business direction and has developed proficiencies in most areas of technology.  David always strives to make his team better, smarter and more efficient.  Clients appreciate his honesty (even if it is not what they want to hear) and anyone who knows David will attest to his straightforward nature.

Today David Kolssak is responsible for business development and customer relationships. In his time off, David thoroughly enjoys traveling with his wife, Melissa, and sons, David II and Chase.  He sits on the board  of Chicago Executive Airport where he serves as a director.

David J. Lecinski
David Lecinski was born in 1970 and graduated from Purdue University in 1992 with a B.S. degree in Aviation Technology.  David has always had an analytical, logical and photographic mind helping him excel in the technical fields of computer networking and systems integration. 

David had his first exposure to information technology shortly after graduating from college when he joined the staff of U.S. Robotics Corporation.  David has been trained by USR, 3Com, Cisco, HP/Compaq and Microsoft.  He has a tremendous ability to design, implement and troubleshoot complex network infrastructures as well as manage those under his tutelage.   David is an avid reader and is one of the few people in this world who actually reads technical publications and manuals. 

He is proficient in just about every area of computing.  If, however, David finds something new that he is unfamiliar with, it is not long until he develops a strong proficiency in that subject.  When not working, David and his wife, Michelle, enjoy traveling and flying their own airplane to new and exciting places throughout the United States.
